“I had several weeks of hypnotherapy with Robin of Plain Sailing Therapy as I wanted to tackle my unhealthy diet. Robin explained the process clearly and, as the weeks progressed, tailored the hypnotherapy content to reflect my specific requirements and used my words so each session was very personal to my stated outcome. As a result of the work we did together, I have identified and dismantled many habitual practises around buying food, cooking and eating which were keeping me from having a healthy relationship with food. Many of my habits came from my childhood experiences and I had never challenged their relevance to me as an adult before I had my hypnotherapy sessions with Robin. Over the past four months, I have built on what I learned about myself and how I historically responded around food and my eating patterns are now much healthier. I feel better in myself because I am eating nutritious food and I have slowly begun to lose weight, which has been a welcome bonus but was not my primary focus. I thank Robin for helping me to break old bad eating habits and creating new healthy habits.”
I was amazed at how hypnotherapy relaxed me after such a long tiring day. Robin gave a hypnotherapy presentation to the staff at school which was very relaxing and therapeutic. It was an excellent session and I definitely think there is a need for it in such a stressful working environment. The group responded very well to the therapy and everyone agreed that it was beneficial and worthwhile. I am looking forward to the next session!
I had my first treatment this week, it was brilliant. I don’t sleep well most nights and can be up 3 or 4 times a night , but that night and every night since, touch wood, I’ve slept all night long. I have woken up fresh and full of energy can’t wait for my next one.

I came to see Robin the week leading up to running the London Marathon. My training had been going well but 5-6 weeks before the event a big event happened in my personal life that shattered my confidence and prevented me from being able to train those weeks leading up to the big day. I knew that the main thing holding me back was some self belief and confidence in my ability and after spending a couple of hours with Robin, talking and then having hypnotherapy, I felt like the biggest burden had been lifted from me, from being a tightly wound up ball of stress, I left his office grinning from ear to ear. On the day of the marathon, his words resounded in my head and I joined the starting pen feeling calm and relaxed. I completed the London Marathon, grinning all the way and I loved every minute of it. I can’t thank Robin enough 🙂

Mentoring – Robin has been a fantastic professional friend to me over the last year and has always given me honest and constructive help. On a bad day he is there for me when I just need someone to listen. On a good day he helps me think, reflect and plan ways to achieve my professional targets. As an NQT in a challenging school it can be difficult at times to find survival strategies so it has been very helpful to have outside advice from a professional perspective on school related issues. This service has also helped me to think about setting myself realistic achievable goals that are both professional and personal because it is important to have a life outside of teaching too… I have learnt to be kind to myself!
